Our fishing operations are designed to reduce impact while delivering consistently highquality catch.
With our modern vessel Hulda Björnsdóttir, we operate with improved efficiency and performance compared to older vessels. The vessel’s technology and design allow us to use less fuel per trip, supporting lower emissions and more responsible operations.
Quality also begins with how fish are treated onboard. From the moment the fish is caught, our focus is on careful handling and controlled conditions to protect freshness, maintain value, and ensure premium quality when the catch reaches harbour.
Responsible Fishing Practices
We operate within Iceland’s regulated fisheries framework and follow strict rules on
quotas, handling, and reporting. Our goal is to contribute to a stable and responsible
industry built on:

Social Responsibility
Ganti ehf is based in Grindavík, and we believe a fishing company has a responsibility to the community it comes from. That responsibility is more important now than ever, following the events in Grindavík on November 11th 2023, when volcanic activity and earthquakes led to major disruption for the town and its residents.
We remain committed to supporting Grindavík and contributing to the strength of local life — not only through our work, but through active involvement in the community.
We contribute to Grindavík’s infrastructure and social foundation by supporting projects and activities such as sports, church initiatives, and local gatherings. These efforts reflect our long-term commitment to the people, families, and institutions that make Grindavík what it is.
