Our story
Our history is closely connected to Þorbjörn hf / Thorfish, one of the oldest names in Icelandic fisheries. Following the division of Þorbjörn hf into three separate fishing companies, Ganti ehf was established to continue that legacy — preserving the same commitment to quality, reliability, and long-term stewardship of the ocean.
The foundation of that legacy was formed by Tómas Þorvaldsson and Hulda Björnsdóttir, the founders of Þorbjörn hf. Their leadership and vision helped shape the values that still guide our work today.
In recognition of this heritage, our vessel proudly carries the name:
